The teaching methods at the undergraduate level aim at the promotion of Inter-disciplinary approach and practical appreciation of problems. In addition to the lecture method, seminars, tutorials, assignments, clinical experience, fieldwork, legal research and legal writing will be used.
In courses which need cooperative teaching, several teachers and experts will be involved to maximize the learning potential of the students. Clinical legal education will be given due place and academic credit will be given to the students who participate in it.

LL.M.
EVALUATION SYSTEM
Each of the courses in the first semester carries a maximum of 100 marks and the dissertation carries a maximum of 200 marks. The distribution of marks in each of the seminar courses is as follows:
i) Seminar Paper 60 Marks
ii) Presentation of Seminar Paper 40 Marks
The guidelines for presentation of seminars and their evaluation procedures will be as prescribed by the Faculty Committee.
The question paper for the written examination is set by the teacher who handled the course. The concerned internal / external teacher evaluates the answer scripts. The dissertation will be sent to an external examiner, who is appointed by the Vice-Chancellor, for evaluation
Every LL.M. student will be associated with a teacher. The student shall attend the B.A., LL.B.(Hons.) class of the teacher and assist her/him in the preparation of teaching materials and all other related activities.
PROMOTION SCHEME
Promotion from one semester to the next semester is regulated on the basis of a candidate passing in 3 (three) out of 4 (four) papers prescribed for each semester.
If a candidate clears three papers in all of the previous semester including the papers cleared at the repeat examination which is conducted immediately before the commencement of the subsequent semester, she / he shall be promoted to the next semester.
A candidate will be promoted to the second year if he / she clears all the papers of the first semester and three out of four of the second semester.
No candidate shall however, be allowed to submit the dissertation at the end of the fourth semester unless he has passed in all the papers obtaining at least the minimum grade prescribed.
CONDITIONS FOR A PASS AND RE-EXAMINATION
To be declared successful in any course / dissertation, a candidate must secure at least ‘B’ Grade. Those who secure ‘F’ Grade will be declared as failed.
Candidates who fail to appear for the examination in a paper or fail to obtain at least ‘B’ Grade must take that examination again, including presentation of fresh seminars, in the corresponding semester.
If a candidate secures ‘F’ Grade in the dissertation or fails to submit the dissertation within the time permitted he will be given one more chance to submit a revised dissertation or dissertation as the case may be within such time as the concerned Faculty Committee decides.
A student admitted to the LL.M. degree programme must complete all the prescribed requirements within a maximum period of 4 years from and including the year of admission in order to be eligible for the award of the degree.
Candidates who have
- completed all the papers and dissertation obtaining at least a “B” Grade.
- secured cumulative grade point average of 4 out of 8; shall be awarded the LL.M. Degree.
