Nyaya Forum is a first-of-its-kind student-initiated think-tank devoted to research and advocacy on issues related to litigation and the judiciary as two paths of courtroom lawyering. Our focus on the legal profession is primarily from the vantage point of students and young graduates who face several hindrances whenever they decide to pursue careers in a courtroom or dispute resolution in general, ranging from a lack of proper guidance to a dearth of connections. Our extensive work is available on NALSAR’s YouTube Channel, which garnered a lot of attention due to Nyaya’s guest lecture series. We hosted a guest lecture series on practical skills for litigation, a special session on Future of Virtual Courts and Access to Justice in India by Hon’ble Dr. Justice D. Y. Chandrachud, and a webinar panel discussion on Judicial Clerkships, among other sessions. We have also hosted lecture series on practical skills for litigation and for training students on different practice areas. These webinars and panel discussions have been extensively covered by legal media outlets.
During the past years, we have organised a lecture by J. (Retd.) Ravindra Bhat on ‘Careers in Litigation’ and and a panel discussion with six lawyers on human rights litigation in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. But Nyaya Forum is not about the talks. We also have Nyaya Blog where we have had practitioners write blogs on courtroom lawyering and important legislations.
