The Equal Opportunities Cell oversees the effective implementation of policies and programmes for the disadvantaged groups and provides them guidance further counselling with respect to academic, finance, social and other matters and to enhance the diversity within the campus.

 Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor various welfare schemes and programmes sponsored by the Government of India, State Government, UGC, or any agency/organization, as well as those devised by the College or affiliating University, for effective implementation for disadvantaged groups.
  • Be responsible for the effective functioning of the SC/ST Cell and other such cells or centres addressing the concerns of socially disadvantaged groups.
  • Convene meetings of in-charges of committees and programmes dealing with social issues, such as the Gender Sensitization Committee Against Sexual Harassment (GSCASH), to review their activities.
  • The Advisor shall submit progress and review reports to the Registrar. Coordinators of the SC/ST Cell, Remedial Coaching, and other schemes shall be closely associated with the Equal Opportunity Centre.
