The Centre for Energy Studies (CES) brings over three decades of expertise in the energy and power sector, supporting governments, regulators, and industry across electricity reforms, renewable energy, and power markets.
ABOUT THE COURSE
India’s electricity sector has undergone a remarkable transformation, from the Indian Electricity Act of 1910 through the Electricity (Supply) Act of 1948 to the landmark Electricity Act, 2003. The 2003 Act consolidated the framework, introduced open access, transparency in sectoral decision making and promoted consumer empowerment. Electricity is a universal necessity and has become indispensable be it for domestic use or commercial and industrial applications. The proposed course on Indian Electricity Law aims to familiarize the participants with law, policy and regulatory framework governing the electricity sector. This interdisciplinary course blends ASCI’s expertise in technical and policy aspects and NALSAR’s domain knowledge in legal and regulatory aspects.
This course aims to provide participants with a structured legal and technical approach towards the legislative framework, regulatory dynamics of India’s electricity sector.
