Anti-Ragging Committee

The Anti-Ragging Committee at NALSAR is constituted to prevent, prohibit, and address incidents of ragging on campus. The Committee adopts a comprehensive approach by involving faculty, parents, students, and administrative staff to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students, particularly fresh entrants. The Committee also receives and examines complaints related to ragging, ensures prompt inquiry where necessary, and recommends appropriate action in accordance with university and UGC regulations. By encouraging responsible interaction between seniors and juniors, the committee aims to foster a culture of respect, safety, and mutual support across the campus.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The Committee will supervise and monitor activities of the students and initiate measures for preventing ragging on campus.
  • The Committee will create awareness about ragging and the punishment and penalties for the same
  • The Committee will ensure that the student body is enrolled in the UGC portal and ensure effective implementation of Anti-Ragging guidelines and Rules.
  • The Committee will ensure all measures necessary to prevent ragging on campus.
  • The Committee shall consider the recommendations of the Anti-Ragging Squad and take appropriate decisions including spelling out suitable punishments to those found guilty.

Note: The interested members of studentbody (second year upwards) can nominate to be part of this committee, and are selected through an SOP (statement of purpose) based process. The university rules and regulations along with UGC anti-ragging regulations are attached herewith.

Anti-Ragging Squad

NALSAR has a zero-tolerance policy for ragging. Anyone indulging in ragging will be dealt with severely as per law. The squad aids the Anti-Ragging Committee in the process of eliminating this menace and acts through wide-ranging powers including surprise raids.

Committee :

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. The squad has vigil oversight and patrolling functions
  2. The squad is mobile alert and active at all times
  3. The squad is empowered to inspect places of potential ragging and make surprise raids on hostels and other hotspots
  4. The squad investigates incidents of ragging and makes recommendations to the Anti-Ragging Committee and works under the overall guidance of the said Committee
  5. The squad supervises and monitors activities of the students to prevent ragging
  6. The squad ensures implementation of anti-ragging guidelines and rules
  7. The squad assists the Anti-Ragging Committee in preventing ragging on campus
