G. Mallikarjun

Associate Professor of Law

Director, Centre for Tribal and Land Rights

Dr G Mallikarjun obtained his LL.M. (Specialisation in Labour Laws) from Kakatiya University, Warangal, with a first division, securing the University First Rank and earning two gold medals.

He was awarded the Ph.D. degree in 2008 from Kakatiya University for his doctoral thesis titled “Contribution of International Labour Organisation to the Development of Human Rights”.

His interest in academics led him to shift from practising law to teaching law. He began his career by practising as an advocate for four years at the Warangal District Court, handling both civil and criminal litigation.

After teaching for a few years at two law colleges in Warangal, Dr Mallikarjun joined NALSAR in January 2009. His prior experience as a legal practitioner added a practical dimension to his teaching at NALSAR. His teaching has consistently ranged from core law courses, such as Administrative Law, Family Law, and Property Law, to niche courses, such as Land Law and Insurance Law.

He is currently serving as the Proctor and has previously held the position of Chief Warden for almost a decade. During his tenure, he implemented several student welfare initiatives and fostered a conducive learning environment.

His approach, as both Proctor and Chief Warden, has always been to respect students’ freedom while upholding and recognising their rights and liberties.

In terms of administration, as a member of the Academic and Examination Committee, he gained experience in managing university examinations.
