Professor K. Vidyullatha Reddy has been a member of the NALSAR faculty for twenty-five years. Prior to joining NALSAR she was an I/c Principal for a private law college for four years. In her teaching career spanning three decades, Professor Vidyullatha has taught courses of Law of Evidence, Banking and Finance Law and Environmental Law. Having earned her Ph.D in Environmental Law, Professor Vidyullatha is a subject-expert in environmental law and also heads the Centre for Environmental Law at NALSAR for over twenty years. Many research studies and other activities were conducted as part of the Centre’s activities. She has published two editions of the book titled “Solid Waste-Law and Practice”. She has edited a book on Consumer Law and published more than twenty research papers. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the university environmental law journal titled “Environmental Law and Practice Review”. So far, ten volumes of the journal have been published.
Professor Vidyullatha has conducted numerous research projects, including a study on women’s coparcenary rights, which contributed to amendments in India that help women secure property rights, and a study on waste management in Hyderabad.
In addition to environmental law, Professor Vidyullatha is passionate about legal aid work. She coordinated and institutionalised legal aid at NALSAR. Several studies, reports, and counselling for society were undertaken through these initiatives. She was part of the project that helped establish a legal aid centre within the Warangal district court premises.
She is invited as a speaker and serve as a resource person at several academies and training institutions, including the State Judicial Academy, the National Academy of Direct Taxes, the RBI officers’ training program, and the Consumer Court presiding officers’ training program.
She won the State’s Best Teacher Award. She served on the State CII, the State Legal Aid Committee, and the State Biodiversity Board.
Professor Vidyullatha also possesses extensive administrative experience and key positions. She appointed as the Registrar of the University and also as the Head of the Management Department. She has also been the Convener of the Exam Committee, Moot Court Committee, Admission Committee, and Placement Committee at the University, to name a few. in addition to being a member on various other committees for the internal administration of the University. Professor Vidyullatha has served and remains a member of all University Governing Bodies: the Academic Council, the Executive Council, and the General Council.
