Dr. Kapil Sharma is an Assistant Professor at NALSAR University of Law, whose teaching and research span International Trade Law, Dispute Resolution in International Trade and Investment Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Property Law, and Contract Law. His primary area of expertise lies in International Economic Law, with a particular focus on the law and practice of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
His scholarship engages deeply with WTO dispute settlement, examining its institutional design, interpretative approaches, and evolving systemic challenges, especially in balancing trade liberalisation with regulatory autonomy. His research also extends to dispute resolution mechanisms in international trade and investment regimes, including both adjudicatory and alternative processes.
Dr. Sharma’s work further reflects an interest in ADR frameworks, as well as foundational private law subjects such as Contract and Property Law, which inform his interdisciplinary teaching and research approach.
He has published widely in leading national and international journals, contributed chapters to edited volumes, and edited books on WTO law, subsidy disciplines, trade remedies, and institutional reform, with a particular emphasis on development-oriented perspectives.
