Dr. Rohan Cherian Thomas is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Law at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. He joined NALSAR in July 2023. He teaches courses on Intellectual Property Law at NALSAR.
Dr. Thomas was earlier an Assistant Professor (Law) at National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ). He taught at NLUJ for 9 years, serving as the Chairperson of the University Moot Court Committee, the Executive Director of the Centre for Intellectual Property Studies, the Executive Director of the Centre for Consumer Law Research & Practice, and the Chief Editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property Studies.
He received a B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons.) from Gujarat National Law University and went on to earn his LL.M. in Intellectual Property Rights from NLUJ. He holds a Junior Research Fellowship and earned his Ph.D. in Performer’s Rights from NLUJ on the topic: ‘The Conundrum of Rights Pertaining to Background Performers’. His focus was on Performer’s Rights and Copyright Law. He has a keen interest in Patent Law, International Intellectual Property Law, Tort Law, Environmental Law, Consumer Law, and Motor Vehicles Law.
He writes primarily on Intellectual Property Law and has participated in several national and international conferences and seminars.
