The Public Policy Group is a student-led initiative committed to making public policy accessible, engaging, and relevant to young thinkers and aspiring policymakers. Our core aim is to build an informed community that understands not just what policy decisions are made, but why and how they matter.
We organize a range of interactive activities throughout the academic year, including guest talks, lectures, and hands-on workshops with policymakers, academics, and development professionals. These sessions are designed to demystify policy processes and encourage critical engagement with pressing national and global issues.
In addition to events, we run two flagship initiatives. Our podcast series, Not Why But How, focuses on unpacking the practical aspects of policymaking, how decisions are implemented on the ground, the challenges faced, and what meaningful impact looks like. Featuring interviews with practitioners and scholars, the podcast aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
We also publish Perspectives, a monthly student-written newsletter that curates and explains important policy developments in a sharp, witty, and accessible format. It blends humour with analysis to make complex policy ideas easier to digest and more engaging for a broad student audience.
