Professor Srinivas Subbarao Pasumarti is a distinguished academic leader, researcher, institution builder, and policy advisor with over three decades of experience in higher education leadership, research, entrepreneurship development, and academic governance. He holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Entrepreneurship and Corporate Law, along with two postdoctoral qualifications: a D.Litt. from Berhampur University in International Business and a post-doctoral research fellowship in Innovation Ecosystems from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal. He also holds an MBA in International Business, an FDPM from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, and is a LEAP Fellow of the University of Cambridge (UK). His academic trajectory reflects a rare interdisciplinary integration of management, law, innovation, sustainability, and public policy.
Currently serving as Professor of Entrepreneurship & Innovation and Head of the Department of Management Studies at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, he also chairs the International Affairs Committee and directs the Centre for Law, Entrepreneurship & Action Research (CLEAR) and the NALSAR Entrepreneurship Foundation (NEF). He is a Visiting Professor at Curtin University (Australia), the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, and has delivered academic sessions at leading Indian Institutes of Management including IIM Rohtak and IIM Sirmaur. These engagements reflect his strong national and international academic presence and thought leadership.
He has been instrumental in strengthening global academic partnerships and signing strategic MoUs with leading universities and industry bodies across continents. Under his leadership, institutions have advanced internationalization strategies and secured memberships with global academic networks such as AACSB, AMDISA, and PRME, aligning governance frameworks, curriculum architecture, assurance of learning systems, research standards, and stakeholder engagement processes with international accreditation benchmarks.
Prof. Pasumarti has held senior leadership positions including Dean and Division Head at MIT World Peace University and Founding Registrar and Dean at Sri Sri University. He has led multi-disciplinary schools comprising over 8,000 students and 150 faculty members, introduced NEP-aligned and industryintegrated programmes in FinTech, Analytics, ESG, and Sustainability, strengthened placement outcomes, and significantly enhanced institutional ranking performance and sustainability metrics.
A strong advocate of entrepreneurship-led development and MSME capacity building, he has conducted more than 65 executive development and entrepreneurship training programmes for MSME entrepreneurs, civil servants, and corporate professionals. He has served as National Consultant to Government of India ministries, contributing to legislative and policy initiatives including the Inland Vessels Act project and state tourism reforms. Through his “Campus Startup Culture” model, he has mentored over 500 student ventures and built robust incubation ecosystems linking academia, startups, investors, and industry.
As a research mentor and doctoral supervisor, he has guided 12 Ph.D. scholars and numerous MBA research projects in entrepreneurship ecosystems, ESG, fintech, HR analytics, AIdriven systems, and sustainable finance. A prolific scholar with over 235 academic contributions—including 35 books, 160+ indexed journal publications, international case studies, and 27 patents—his work bridges research excellence with applied institutional and societal impact. Internationally engaged, he has visited nearly 20 countries for research collaborations, keynote addresses, conference presentations, and visiting professorships. In recognition of his global academic contributions, he was felicitated by the Parliament of Victoria (Australia).
