Trilaterals
Trilateral is not just another sports fest, it’s the most awaited and spirited tradition among India’s top law schools. What began back in 2003 as a friendly bilateral rivalry between NALSAR University of Law and National Law School of India University (NLSIU) took on a grander form in 2017, when NUJS Kolkata joined the fray, transforming it into the electrifying Trilateral tournament we know today.
Once a year, students who usually live amidst case laws, research papers, and coffee cups trade their books for bats, courts, and tracks, competing in cricket, basketball, volleyball, athletics, chess, and more. The goal? Eternal bragging rights and the coveted title of “Tournament Winner.”
The tournament follows a rotational format, with each of the three universities taking turns to host. NALSAR has proudly held the champion’s title for four consecutive years, setting the bar sky-high. In March 2026, the stage shifts to NUJS Kolkata, and anticipation is already in the air, because at Trilateral, the only law that matters is the law of the game.
