Applications for the post of Legal Consultant (Maritime Law)

Applications are invited for the post of Legal Consultant (Maritime Law) on contractual basis in collaboration with Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Ports Shipping and Waterways, Govt. of India, Mumbai.

Requirements

1. Language Proficiency: Applicants must be fluent in English.
2. Qualification & Experience : LL.M in Maritime Law or LL.M in Insurance Law, LL.M in Maritime Security Law or LL.M in International Law. Preferably with experience of 01 to 02 years
3. Age : Candidate should be below 35 years as on 30-09-2026.

Remuneration: ₹60,000/- per month (consolidated)

Tenure: Initially for one year, extendable based on performance

Location: Directorate General of Shipping (HQ), Mumbai

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, based upon which, final selection will be made.

General Information

1. The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possesses the same will not entitle him / her for being called for The University reserves the right to restrict the candidates to be called for online interview to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed; or by any other condition that it may deem fit. Those who are possessing higher qualifications will be given preference in short-listing the candidates. The University may constitute a Screening Committee to scrutinize the applications and short-list the candidates. Call letters for test / interview will be sent only to the short-listed candidates and no correspondence will be made with applicants who are not short-listed.
2. It would be open to the University to consider the names of suitable persons who may not have applied, but recommended by experts in their respective fields.
