The specific problems of particular persons and institutions throw up challenges of implementation and interpretation. The University offers institutional and individual consultancy services to address these issues. In resolving the problems of clients normative understanding is deepened as it keeps scholars connected with issues on the ground and curbs scholastic insularity.
Amongst some of the issues on which the University has been consulted include: the enactment of a disability rights legislation which was in conformity with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities; the drafting of a grievance redress law; legislative protection to domestic workers; sentencing guidelines.
Some of the reports prepared by the University as legal consultants are available at our open access initiative.
